Eurotunnel Folkestone Terminal

The Eurotunnel Folkestone Terminal is a railway terminal built to transport road-going vehicles on specially constructed trains through the Channel Tunnel. BDP designed all the structures within the terminal, including 18 buildings—elegant white pavilions acting as punctuation points along the traveller’s route.

The wayfinding brief was to develop a coherent customer communication sign system that would balance the needs of service operators with Eurotunnel's corporate and commercial objectives. There was a significant need to promote the use of terminal buildings for purposes other than just toilets, thereby maximising revenue opportunities, particularly in relation to duty-free sales.
