Oak Cancer Centre

The Oak Cancer Centre is a modern facility for cancer treatment and clinical research, developed for the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust in Sutton.

The building layout naturally lends itself to intuitive wayfinding, with spaces unfolding logically from arrival through entry and circulation, allowing clear sight lines and visual cues to simplify navigation. The atrium, which spans from the lower ground level to the roof lights on level 3, serves as a key point of orientation and aids in wayfinding within the building.

I collaborated with architects, interior designers, and landscape architects to develop a design strategy based on best wayfinding practices. My responsibilities included conducting extensive user groups and workshops to ensure that the needs of all users were incorporated into the strategy and design.
